The Love and Thunder Artist Series is a collaboration between an Artist and L&T.
The purpose is to showcase unique artwork by artists. It’s not to just have something to make for Love & Thunder t-shirts…
The Artist produces an original creative work exclusively for printing by Love and Thunder. We try to retain all of the integrity and fine detail in the original artwork because that’s the signature of the artist. We don’t want to mess with the handiwork of the artist – it’s the beauty of their craft and skill that creates the emotion attached to what they do.
Artists are either approached by Love & Thunder or they can approach us with a view to a collaboration. We’re always keen to hear from artists, illustrators and typographers with a view to adding to the artist series.
We will be adding more and more garments to the Artist Series every quarter so watch that space in the shop – the most unique screen print graphics will be appearing there anytime soon!
The First of Many!
The first of our Artist Series comes from a friend and huge Love & Thunder supporter John Baxter – an accomplished illustrator and art teacher John has boundless enthusiasm for his art and what we’re trying to achieve with the Artist Series. Previously seen in the like of Sports Illustrated and publications such as that, we’re pretty stoked that he’s on board. Incidentally he’s available for private commissions also – so if you want an original piece of artwork in his inimitable style then drop him a line or catch up with him at Love & Thunder at a show near you where you’ll find him painting at our stand.
True Limited Editions
The Artist Series will not only be featured on limited edition T-Shirts but also on poster prints signed and numbered by the artist. The Artist Packs will follow soon. We think that approach suits the ethos and heart behind the Artist Series – so grab one while you can.
To launch the series we started with a hand painted and ink drawn Hotrod by John as a tribute to vintage hotrod speed racing at Pendine Sands in Wales – and it’s spectacular! The follow up t-shirts are just as awesome! Check out the open top Dream.Build.Design roadster and flaming Merc street rod racer!
