After years of overlanding in Land Rovers we decided we wanted a VW campervan for road trips and family adventures.

So we bought a 2000 Volkswagen T4 model 2.5tdi and began the process of building our own campervan with the layout we wanted.

We called our campervan the Wander Wagon, afterall every good automobile needs a name doesn’t it?

Our T4 is a factory high roof long-wheel base model that started off life as a community bus in Worthing, UK. It did about ten years of service then was sold to a private individual who owned it until we bought it.

It’s a solid old thing with cavernous space inside – enough space to stand up in which is pretty important for a full-size campervan.

When I drove it home from Norwich I experienced the first signs of the community vibe VW campervan owners talk about – I got about a half dozen waves from other VW T4 owners – which was amazing.

Anyway, I made a video which you may care to watch – the start of a new adventure in an automobile.

Happy days!
