The first design of our Artist Series collection became an instant hit – it we’ve kept it going as it is!
The detail and textures in this Hotrod screenprint have to be  seen to be believed. When we approached John about doing some limited edition Hot Rod illustration based prints he was up for it. This is the first of the series and what a beauty it is – we’ve never seen a painting of a hotrod like this before and it’s fantastic! The feel of the ink and the wash of the water colour is incredible – you’ll stare at it for ages taking it all in.
What makes this t-shirt even more special is that it’s a tribute to the historic land speed racing at Pendine Sands in South Wales. This lengendary beach is where many a record was set and broken in the early days of British land speed record breaking on motorbikes and automobiles. Even the famed Malcolm Campbell set a world record in 1924 on the beach of Pendine Sands in his car Blue Bird. True automative history which is now being revived and relived on those haloed shores!
Unlike vintage racing hotrods this t-shirt is in no way trimmed down – this is a Super Deluxe 100% cotton heavyweight of a tee in a classic cut with a soft-touch three colour print to highlight the artistic skills of JB!
We call this colour “ice aged” because it’s not white and it’s not grey so you know the print of the illustration is going to be hot stuff. Sorry…couldn’t resist.
